David Henshaw, a long time resident of Tamahere, was the creator of Jock, a farming icon. David's cartoons appeared in New Zealand Farmer for 34 years and on the Jock's Country Life calendar for the last 18 years. In 2011 David became an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services as a cartoonist. He died in 2014 at the age of 74.
