Caralee Caldwell is a lawyer and mother of three, who had always struggled with maintaining her weight and a balanced diet. She made a Real Food pledge by making a conscious decision to ditch processed food and only eat real food by way of a lifestyle change to improve her health and wellbeing. The results of this change made such a huge difference to her life and to those around her, that she was compelled to start a blog about her Real Food pledge, which also contained her gluten, dairy and sugar free recipes. The popularity of the blog and her recipes has led to Caralee publishing

Caralee grew up in Northland, New Zealand and spent her childhood foraging for ingredients so she has always been an intuitive cook using ingredients that are easily available. All of the recipes in the book are simple dishes that she cooks at home for her family and that everyone will be able to cook.
